Dr. Robert E. Jacobson is a distinguished neurological surgeon with over 35 years of experience, specializing in spine surgery, brain tumors, and stereotactic radiosurgery using CyberKnife and Gamma Knife technologies. Trained at renowned institutions like Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Miami, he completed advanced fellowships in spine and microvascular surgery in the Netherlands and Switzerland.

A pioneer in spinal imaging and surgical techniques, Dr. Jacobson developed percutaneous lumbar approaches and spinal instrumentation systems, holding several U.S. patents. He has lectured globally and serves at leading medical centers, including the CyberKnife Center of Miami and Mercy Hospital.

Dr Jacobson was instrumental in the development of cross-sectional imaging of the spine in the 1970’s and 1980’s and later developed the initial percutaneous approach to the lumbar spine in the 1980’s and spinal screw systems for lumbar surgery in the early 1990’s.  He holds US patents for both percutaneous and spinal instrumentation systems as well as stereotactic guidance surgical systems. He has written and lectured worldwide on spinal imaging and surgery as well as Radiosurgery. Doctor Jacobson has privileges at the CyberKnife Center of Miami, CyberKnife Institute at Mercy Hospital, University of Miami Hospital, and Coral Gables Ambulatory Center.
